Long shot but are there any Gynaecologists on here?

Can anyone confirm if following an abnormal smear, biopsy and confirmation of cin2, the only option of removal is LLETZ?

I had this procedure today and there was a horrible mix up where I was told I would have cold coagulation as my biopsy results only showed low grade lesions and a ‘neat’ transformation zone. I was also told this would preserve the length of my cervix which means there wouldn’t be risk of future pre-term births in pregnancy.

This was before they read my notes that I have previously had treatment for abnormal cells (I think it was a cold coagulation rather than LLETZ but this was in another country about 10 years ago so need my notes to confirm). I was then told that if I have had ANY treatment before then LLETZ was the only option. Is this true? Feeling very unsettled that I may have had the wrong procedure.

Really hope someone can help.
