Thick wrinkled skin on top of foot

Has anyone got any idea what this could be about?

My googling has turned up nothing. It's al about heels and mine are fine. I've got a large patch of very thickened hard skin on the top of one of my feet, and it had deep wrinkles/lines in it like you'd see on a very old person who's spent their life in the sun!

I've tried all kinds of moisturisers and heel balms to soften it, exfoliating the area, pumice etc and nothing is touching it.

Any ideas of why it's there and what to do about it welcome.

Do you have very young kids/spend a lot of time on your knees on the floor? I had a bit of this on the tops of both feet at the ankle joint, and also on my knees just below the knee caps for a while, when DS was about 2.5/3yrs - I am sure it was because I spent so much time kneeling on the floor doing puzzles with him etc. As he grew and got into different things I did this less, and skin went back to normal!

Thanks that's a possibility! Good to hear yours just went away. I was wondering whether it was due to sun damage or something. It seemed to come on over the summer. Or being rubbed by a sandal. But the fact it's not shifting is bothering me!

It's hyperkeratosis. I've got 2 horrid hard lumps of it on the crease of my upper foot. GP and dermatologist were absolutely useless.

You need urea cream on it, at least 10% content and preferably higher. Don't file it, you'll just make it worse. Protect from further wear and keep the sun of it! Mine goes through phases.... at the moment they're barely visible as I'm wearing really thick socks all the time. They tend to be worse in summer. I hate it and have had it for around 20 years Sad. I'm really self conscious about wearing sandals.

Ouch that looks sore! I'm not sure if that is mine... mine looks like my normal foot but almost like I'm 100 years old 😅 I've tried cream with high urea in and it doesn't seem to have helped yet 🤔
