Coming off contraceptive pill after 15 years

To elaborate, this is my dd who was put on a low estrogen pill aged 16 by our doctor due to exceptionally heavy and painful periods. She was told to take the pill every day without a break, and she did, for nearly 15 years. I did try warning her that it might not be the right thing to do, but she has a borderline personality disorder and chose not to take my advice. Well, she is now 30 and wants to get her body back to normal. She's not had a period yet ( it's been about a month) but is suffering from excruciating stomach and back pains that painkillers don't help.
I'd be grateful to hear from anyone who has done something similar, or can offer any advice.
Thanks for reading!
