Can you help me find an idiots guide to schizophrenia?

My brother is a paraniod schizophrenic and my mum says things thats hes said/done and I say its becuase hes ill...but it doesnt seem to sink in.
Ideally im looking for examples of behaviour and reasons in plain english.
Just so when hes going off on one, well last night he got her out of bed at midnight saying 30 blokes had beaten him up and he didnt have a mark on him...she can relate that sort of behaviour to something shes heard of before.

Hes off his head is what she was saying this morning, and I felt like saying Yes thats the thing, he is...its not his fault its an illness he doesnt take his pills for but youve hit it on the head there.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Good news CC, haven't heard from my brother. Hope all goes well especiallly with the bad weather coming.

Mums just been talking to someone from Social Services, who said hed just been speaking to the place hes in, who said(!) they are thinking or moving him onto the second phase already???!!!
Not sure what that is but seems a bit quick whatever it is.
Pills havent kicked in yet, hes acting rather strangely but hes in the warm which is all that matters for now!

Just updating this, mainly so when it all falls apart I can come back and see what happened when...UNBELIEVABLY my brother is in a sheltered accomodation place, little flat with workers in the next flat 24/7...he feels he doesnt belong there and everyone else is a moron however...Im finding it amazing that hes stayed put. Just last week he has got some DLA in stead of jobseekers and is rolling in money, buying 5 quid bars of soaps even though he never seems to gets bathed but whatever rocks his boat
Mum went round univited one day and he had drawn on a hitler moustache which is quite disturbing but apart from that hes ok...not sure about his pills, hes gets them from the doc but dont know if he takes them.
