My stomach feels strained as if I’ve done thousands of sit ups, it’s worst around my belly button
I’ve got Lower backache
Every time I eat my stomach gets really bloated and gassy but is much much better at home at the weekend so much worse at work during the week

Why would you leap to cancer before anything else? Could be anything from indigestion, acid reflux, crohns, colitis, ibs, coeliac etc etc. Get yourself to the GP and get some tests.

lcdododo · 14/12/2020 18:23

I'm not sure what your illness sounds like

But I know it sounds like you have anxiety

Go see a doctor. No one on here can medically advise you.

Drogonssmile · 14/12/2020 18:29

I used to work in gastroenterology. It could be a whole host of things, in the main benign. Best thing is to get to the GP, get some blood tests done and a referral to Gastro.

Drogonssmile · 14/12/2020 18:30

Also one of the main massive red flag symptoms for a Gastro related cancer is rapid unexplained weight loss. Also change in bowel habits.

theresagiantonthebeach · 14/12/2020 18:31

best ask a dr rather than getting a diagnosis on the Internet. .

vinoelle · 14/12/2020 18:33

@Drogonssmile please don't advise someone who you haven't examined (if you are even clinically qualified to do so) and who you have read a few lines of text about only, that they need a referral. They may do, they may not, thats what the GP is for.

Marypoppins19 · 14/12/2020 18:55

@Drogonssmile thank you

Sincere apologies @vinoelle

You're welcome @Marypoppins19

DianaT1969 · 14/12/2020 20:22

@vinoelle - 🤷‍♀️? I thought the advice by @Drogonsmile was balanced and helpful. She didn't make a diagnosis, as far as I can see. She referred the OP to her GP.

Tunnocks34 · 22/12/2020 21:44

Have you had children?

It could be Diastasis Recti?

livelovelaugh30 · 24/12/2020 00:02

Firstly, so sorry to hear read this @Marypoppins19 that must be uncomfortable. Definitely speak to your gp, if only to put your mind at ease.

Wow @vinoelle - ?? 🤔 slightly perplexed by your comment and agree with @DianaT1969
I thought @Drogonssmile 's advice was sensible, balanced and reassuring... she also did advise to go to the gp and hardly made a referral herself. I'm pretty certain she's more aware than you- or me- that a diagnoses can't be made on mumsnet. How patronising.

livelovelaugh30 · 24/12/2020 00:04

Sorry that should read *diagnosis

Marypoppins19 · 24/12/2020 06:56

Thank you @livelovelaugh30
Been to GP and given a diagnoses and started medication. It was so helpful to have some initial reassurance so thank you to those who were supportive.

Sorry to jump on the thread in this manner Marypoppins, but I could really do with some advice re stomach issues. I've been having intermittent stomach discomfort for last 3 or 4 weeks. Varies from indigestion/bloated/trapped wind type feeling to a sharper more obvious pain. Not in one particular area, although feels a bit bruised and tender down left side of belly button. I had bowel surgery (obstruction) a year ago but have recovered well from this. Not constipated, not lost weight but got to the point now where I can't wear my jeans as uncomfortable. I've spoken to the GP and had bloods done this week which seem to have all come back normal, so not really sure where to go from here....

Marypoppins19 · 24/12/2020 16:03

That sounds very similar. I’ve been diagnosed with an ulcer and given anti acid medication. It’s taken ages to reduce the pain and I’ve been on 60mg, 40 am and 20pm.
I’ve changed my diet and tried to relax 😬

Bugsy73 · 24/12/2020 18:40

Was the pain constant? Mine comes and goes. I'm sick of it. Everything trickier at the moment as hard to access GP. Thanks for getting back to me. I hope you feel better soon x

Marypoppins19 · 24/12/2020 22:07

Worse after lunch but there all the time. Really, really sore
