Three weeks ago, I hurt my foot. No idea how, no impact, didn't fall etc. Tried rest, ice, elevation for ten days at the end of which I could barely weight bear.

Went to minor injuries, they x-rayed, said there was no fracture, continue to rest, ice, elevate. If no better in two weeks, see my GP. Our GP surgery are not doing face to face appointments for the foreseeable future, basically unless they think on telephone triage that you might have cancer.

The wretched thing is no better. Still in horrendous pain that pain killers are not touching and still struggling to weight bear. The swelling comes down with ice, but is as bad again two hours later.

WIBU to cut to the chase and to go back to minor injuries?

Do it. A standing plate x-ray shows smaller fractures up better.

So bad that you can hardly weight-bear after 3 weeks? Definitely go back. Fractures are sometimes missed.

Yes go back. You shouldn’t struggle on with “Horrendous pain” given you’re taking painkillers.

I agree, back you go, or local A&E.
