can i have some advice please

hi i hurt my knee about 3 weeks ago went to hospital and they said i have tendonitis in my patella tendon
got told to take paracetamol and ibrophen every 4 hours for 2 days and if no better to go onto co-codamol and ibroprofen
well it got no better so went to pharmacy and they said i have a impartial tear in the tendon

well its still really painfull to walk not a sharpe pain but a dull achy pain. but the pain has spread to my ankle with is getting really sore to put pressure on

what do you think i should do?

I think the best thing would be to go back to either your GP or to the hospital - whichever you have more confidence in. It sounds as if you need further investigation/treatment. How did you hurt your knee? Was it a fall or twist, what happened? I ask because a colleague fell and hurt his ankle recently - it wasn't broken, but he still needed to have it in plaster to immobilise it to let the torn muscle heal.

I would suggest resting the leg, applying an ice pack and keeping it elevated - legs up on a footstool or rest on the sofa, until you can actually get to doctor.

the hos havnt even given me anything to support my knee

my hubby had to get me a support bandage

Oh poor you - it does sound as if you might have done some damage that hasn't been picked up. Definitely go back and get a 2nd opinion.

been to docs who said its a servere case of tendonitis which has spread to my ankle tendons and ive torn the cartlidge in my knee and he things some has moving into the knee wall

idd the dr mention steroid injections or physio? that sounds v painful. are you still taking the brufen?

hi sorry yes when i went to the docs first they said it will be 12 weeks before i can see a physio

the doc today said they will push it through to get seen in the next 4 weeks

im on ibprofen 500g 3 times a day
