Eczema Flare Up - Is It The Weather ?

I have posted on other threads about my dd's eczema which as very bad from 3 months till about 7 months but then seemed to really clear up (in the summer), she is now 12 months, and it has been practically non existent recently. I have used Elena Scharlburg's creams and they did work but dont seem to anymore. She has the last week flared up so badly it's all around her eyes and her little face is dreadful today.

I was wondering if it was because of the colder weather and the fact that the heating is on again albeit briefly.

I did change her onto goats which did seem to reduce her eczema but when recently we went to Paris and she had to have cow's milk it didn't seem to make any difference to her skin so I kept her on cows milk. I wonder if I should change her back.

Has anyone else experienced this at this time of year ?

Or do you think it's the milk ?

Sorry not to have replied sooner, but only log on at work !

Hope you appointment goes well today - I have been looking around on the net and Discoid eczema is also called nummular eczema - and is usually more common on legs - where my dd gets it. DD also has atopic eczema.

Try www.treatments-for-eczema.com - this seems to explain things - there is also another type I had not heard of called Dyshidrotic eczema that appears usually on the hands as is small itchy bumps.

Seem to remember the birth to five book you get after baby is born desribes discoid eczema.

Also have no objection to you e mailing me if you think I can help.

Couldn't find a picture of discoid, but it does look like one pence or smaller red circles - distinguished because they are very round - ie not an irregular shape.

HTH - let me know how the appt went.
