Severe jaw pain after having a plate fitted

I had a plate fitted today (it was made precovid)
And it was very unusual feeling but I used ro have a brace so I expected a certain amount of discomfort
I am a wuss about the dentist anyway

So about 3 hrs later my whole side of my mouth, my jaw, my nose and my eye suddenly started with horrific pain
I have taken a cocodamol and it has only eased enough to cope with still bad - I may take a second tablet (very rare for me) I took the plate out

I'm guessing this isn't normal but what is happening

That doesn't sound right at all! I have a plate...they have never given me any pain..just discomfort at first. I would see a doctor because it could be completely unrelated to the plate.

Well plate out and pain killers worn off and I'm ok
I have eaten and drunk a cuppa with no pain

I'm not sure if it was a muscle sasm or maybe something sinus-y

I'll try the plate again in the morning and go from there i think

Has anyone any other ideas?

It probably just needs some adjustment. Though it probably will be causing a fair amount of tension, particularly if you're feeling uncomfortable.

Adjustment from the dentist you mean or in my brain/mind?

I haven't worn it today because I was drviing and an attack like that could be dangerous but I thought I'd wear t for half an hour now and build it up gradually in case it was just too much?
