We know they're looking for cancer.

As well as a urine sample and abdominal ultrasound, he's been asked to do some routine blood tests; FBC, U&E, LFT, CRP, TSH and told not to ejaculate for 48 hours beforehand.

Does anyone have any idea why?

Thanks

Now I've actually seen the form, rather than him telling me, there's also PSA on there. I guess that's it?

Could it perhaps be something to do with his prostate, is that not where semen is generated from? Disclaimer, Im not medical so take this with a huge dose of salt.

Yes prostate blood test can be affected by recent ejaculation.

Yes it'll be for the PSA test.

All the best OP Thanks

Thank you. DH is very bad at telling me stuff like this because he doesn't want to upset me, so I have to piece things together from overheard telephone conversations with his mates.
