Has anyone had leg pain / spasms like these?

A couple of weeks ago I ended up with an agonising pain in my groin and inner thigh. It was so sore to roll over but ok when at rest. Since then it’s deteriorating, and now my leg and groin ache as soon as I lie down to the point of I wake up and my leg is spasming. It’s excruciating. Much less painful when standing. Not getting a clear diagnosis from any of the doctors or physio’s I’ve seen so wondering if anyone had experienced anything similar and managed to get a diagnosis?

Sounds like cramp to me.

Have you tried tonic water? Indian tonic water is best. It has something in it that helps with cramp. Bananas help too.

I have had several episodes of inner thigh spasm and cramping. Sometimes one side and on one terrible occasion both sides at the same time.

I have a seronegative arthropathy which has been variously categorised as psoriatic arthritis and as seronegative spondyloarthropathy with enthesitis. This began after septic discitis after which I had so have the affected spinal disc removed.

Anyway, what I am getting at is that I have very severe arthritis of the spine which affects the apophyseal joints, (near where the spinal nerve roots emerge). Like you, none of the Drs will commit as to the cause of these spasms, but in my case I am sure they are related to spinal nerve irritation as they seem to occur more frequently when I also have increased pain in the sacro-iliac region referred from my spine.

I googled inner thigh cramp some time ago and to my surprise found quite a few on-line forums where this was being discussed - mostly from USA.
