So what cough things are going round?

dd (7) is sounding hoarse this evening and a little bit tight chested with a bit of a tight cough. She has had viral induced asthma in the past so I'm a bit wary. Me - my chest hurts and I'm starting to cough and feel tired. Other than that we are perfectly fine, no cold symptoms.

So is this something thats going round at the moment? I'm hoping it will just vanish as dd is supposed to be off on brownie camp tomorrow and dh is going away for several days. I can't drive at the moment so if its going to get a bit nasty I'm stuck.

yep this is the virus that is taking over the world (or so it seems ) it starts with feeling tired, then the windpipe starts to hurt and coughing is oh sooooo painful, that only lasts a day or so then the snottiness and cough etc kicks in, good luck

Oh we have a different cough here.

Fruity and phlegmy accompanied with high temperatures, but only at night. Symptoms during the day are occasional barfing and endless whinging.

BadKitten · 19/10/2007 20:17

southeastastra, I think I'm being astonishingly thick but sorry to hear you've all got the bug.
Slubber, I don't think I like the sound of yours either.

Several kids at dc' school have been off with a nasty virus which in a couple of cases has triggered croup, even at 6/7

Elibean · 19/10/2007 20:44

Ah yes, think we've had Slubber's version. Both dds ended up on antibiotics as GP thought possibly starting chest infections, but . I had the grown up version: a week of sore throat followed by a week of night coughing, lots of tiredness, but not much snottiness.

Hope you all get well soon xx
