Last night I was having intercourse when my partner stopped and said.. "Have you just got your period" and confused I looked down he has some bright red blood over him and his hands and I had some on my hands too. Now it wasn't pouring out of me but it was enough to get me freaked. There was also zero pain and still isn't.. Iv stopped bleeding also there is just a tiny it of brown when I wipe now. This has never ever happened before. have rang my doctor to be safe as I had a history with high grade changes in a smear a few years ago. Has anyone experienced a one off bleed during sex and been OK? I'm starting to panic

Yes I have, it's perfectly normal. There is more blood flow and your cervix is more sensitive than normal so it's easy to 'pop' a vessel. As long as your not continuously bleeding there is nothing to worry about.

Yes, I have had cervical ectropian and also nabothian cysts both of which makes the cervix bleed easily. Both are completely harmless - although can be annoying! Both diminished when I came off the pill.

Yes. I have a backward tilting womb and bicornuate uterus. Certain positions used to make me bleed a bit. In my 20s I had this a lot and nothing got found on scans so they changed me to POP and it stopped completely. Potentially hormonal. If you're worried and it happens again then see your gp

So what about slight brown blood whenever I wipe the morning after!? X

It's just the remenants of the cut, while it heals you'll still be bleeding in a small amount. Which will be a browny colour when you wipe for a couple of days

Brown blood is old blood, so probably what's left over.

I have a sensitive cervix & sometimes bleed during/after sex. More likely if it's around ovulation. I also bleed after smears/examinations. Both my gynaecologist & GP just advised I keep an eye on it & contact them if I become worried at any point.

Do get get checked but there a many non scary reasons for it.

Had my docs app. She said there's nothing worry about she can see a small red spot on my cervix it's no cause for concern from her point of view but she has referred me to colposcopy clinic to be "extra extra cautious" in her words. Part of me is relieved but part of me is worrying it's something 😭
