Sounds like urinary tract infection?

orangehead · 18/10/2007 16:32

Is it possible for that to be missed at urine test?

what is the medicine he was given last night?
antibiotics? anti-inflammatory? did the doc say what it was, how long the medicine should take to kick in, what he/she thinks the matter is?

orangehead · 19/10/2007 16:19

doc thinks his glands in groin a bit swollen causing him to have bowel spasms. He has given him merbentyl for bowel spasms. I dont feel convinced but that could be because they blamed it on swollen stomach glands 6/12 ago which turned out to be pnuemonia. (I know he doesnt have pneumonia now, but think I have lost faith after the experience when he had pnuemonia)

can understand your worrying. How did they confuse pneumonia with swollen groin glands?

But I would give it maybe 24 hours for the medicine to start working? I'm not in the medical field, maybe someone will be on later who can give you some advice.

It's so difficult to know when to worry and when not to. Hope he feels better soon.

He had really bad stomach pains- screaming and really high temp, no cough, no chest pain, no trouble breathing. He saw 5 docs in 3 days, one of them being at a and e. All treated me like paranoid mother and said it was viral causing his stomach glands to swell. The last doc said he would send us to ped at hosp as 'as we keep coming back'. Peds were brill and picked it up straight away and kept him in hosp for week.
Thanks for yr advice, I will see how he goes
