Oh My ds(is) went on this because she had tried lots of others pills and it was the only one she could take.

Have you had the same with other pills?

TotalChaos · 17/10/2007 22:14

Came off another POP (micronor) due to mood problems, took Microgynon (bog standard combined Pill) and was fine, but unfortunately had high BP so had to switch to Cerazette.

WantToBeAnonymous · 17/10/2007 22:15

dont remember having it with other pop i used after dd1, but loathe to go off cerazette because my periods are so rare!

Ready to try something new, but wary of having same problem with next one.

I would have thought combined would be less risk of mood problems than progestogen only one, but of course it's all a case of swallow it and see...

WantToBeAnonymous · 17/10/2007 23:53

i had to read that twice to get it, well done!

why would combined be less risk of mood problems? i wish i would really know.

The closest i found to talk about this is here but i think is american?

I didn't.

I cannot take combined because of my age and my hypertension.

But I was on the combined for abuot 10 years and didn't have any of the problems I had on POP.

I wish I could still take it

WantToBeAnonymous · 18/10/2007 00:05

progestogen-only contraception of any type can be bad for your moods/exacerbate depression. Not quite sure why it's worth than combined (since of course combined has some progestogen in too).
