Extreme pain to right of belly button when pressed

Hi, just a long shot to get some possibilities of what this is. On Friday I leant over and felt a sharp pain in my abdomen, on the right hand side next to my belly button, so under my right rib. I couldn't feel anything there when not pushing, so no pain, but a general awareness of the area. I have had a bad back for a few weeks.

I sought medical help and was advised that it was my poo pipe, but that my bowel sounded good. A urine sample showed that I have a huge uti and kidney infection. I've got no cystitis symptoms at all.

I've taken 2 days of co-amoxiclav and have 5 more days to take. The abdominal pain feels an issue still. It feels like something is there. It was uncomfortable with my dressing gown belt touching it. But no pain. When I push it the pain is extreme, like a red hot, searing pain, but only when I push. What is this? Is it the uti? Am I ok to leave it? I was unable to poo yesterday, but have every other day, quite hard stools sometimes. Is it gas? I'm supposed to contact GP today for a blood test but not sure they'll see me. Just not sure what to do next.

I have something similar going on. Every now and then it flares up. I get a sort of sharp pain around my right rib area. Then it just feels achy for a while. I keep getting it now, usually accompanied by wind and bloating. I have had numerous ultrasounds because my gallbladder was suspected- every time I've had it nothing has shown on a scan.

I've had it again now on and off for over a week. It started after having fish and chips one day. I'm not in agony but aware of that area aching and feeling uncomfortable.

Hope you get an answer OP and feeling a bit better soon

Thank you!

#42ladymuck do you think it's a food intolerance issue? I know that greasy food can set off the gallbladder though, could be a warning? Im wondering and hoping that its more a gastro issue. Im definitely going to overhaul my diet. It's been a bit embarrassing get my flabby tummy out! Mine feels sore at the moment and it can't really be felt when I'm lying down. It's what I'd imagine a hernia or ulcer to feel like. Ive got some omeprazole, I might take them when the antibiotics run out.

When I've been to the GP before they have passed it off as IBS. I am going to call them again tomorrow though to discuss it again. I'm not sure if it's ibs or not it does tend to feel uncomfortable after eating.

What about H pylori?

@McRibpain

What about H pylori?
That's never been mentioned 🤔and it's not something I know a lot about.

I had h.pylori years ago. That tends to be a burning indigestion type pain after eating and for me at least was definitely upper stomach rather than round navel area, though (as I've been googling all sorts recently trying to get to the bottom of what I've got) I read it can affect your intestines etc as well.

ladymuck111 · 16/11/2020 21:19

I do get a lot of indigestion / heartburn and sometimes it like a burning sensation. But on the whole I'm gassy - I burp a LOT, bloated and I just have a highly feeling around my right rib.

TheSilentStars · 16/11/2020 21:26

Sounds like gallbladder but then when I had h.pylori the GP kept saying it would be my gallbladder not that. Only after a scan which showed no gallstones did she do me a blood test which showed h.pylori! It's really common, something like 60% of the world's population has it but most are asymptomatic. Maybe ask for a test? If it's that you need a hefty wallop of antibiotics. (I needed two rounds to get rid)

I've also noticed that along with my belly button pain and lower right abdomen my right foot is "buzzing".
Dr Google is now sending me down the kidney route.

I've had a few scans and my gallbladder is always clear apart from a polyp on it. My mum has had gallstones though and H.Pylori 🤔

I've had a telephone appointment with a GP this morning and he said to monitor and prescribed me Lansoprazole. He has just called me back and changed his mind thinking it might be a gallstone so I've to go for a blood test and a scan!

We have the same life!! Good luck. Im going back on omeprazole I think!

I've just stopped with panteprazole Grin I was reading on another thread recently though that just as many people have low stomach acid as too much!
My mum also had gallstones. I sometimes (only a few times a year) get a right sided pain that almost takes my breath away and goes into my jaw almost.
I'd quite like just one big operation and get rid of all these bits and bobs like gallbladder and appendix. I'm 55 so they can have my ovaries as well really.
