right, i always say if its bigger than a 10p then seek medical advice.

have burnt middle finger and some of my palm. had it under running cold water for 15mins. skin isnt brokwn or blistered, but is painful and a little bit red.

should i actually seek out of hours attention from clinic? or wait and see?

In my experience of burns (iron, cooking, bunsen burner etc), it can take many hours for the pain to subside. That means several cycles of cold water, and then waiting the 5 or 10 minutes for the pain to return. It does get better though, even if it the pain is excruciating at the time.

Only after the non-contact pain has subsided should you consider putting any foreign substances on the burn. At this point, moisturising is beneficial.

Well it sounded rude, and I am suitably confident that if Misdee was seriously injured she would not be on the internet looking for advice but would be getting medical attention.
which is why I was peddling my old wives tale
No not rude at all............

what about aloe vera (fresh from plant)? in my experience (anecdotal, natch, don't try this at home ) it reduces heat and stops pain quicker than running tap and heals faster.

well, i only went to soak my hand lol and its kicki9ng off a bit.

i have had burns before but they always blistered, or skin burnt off (steam burns and burns from hot lamps whilst working in a kitchen).

this is a water burn from when i was emptying the veggie water from the pan.

the burn is now3 visable clearly, and is tingling, not really painful (yet), skin isnt broken or blistered. it does cover the lower part of two fingers and some of my palm, but isnt that bad.

if the skin breaks then i will go down out of hours, but for now, i think its ok.
