I think my 18 year old DS has ADD. For some time he's struggled with concentration, to the point where he's had to cut short his driving lessons. He's got so behind with his schoolwork etc etc.

I've been assuming it's general teenageryness, but I've just come across ADD and he seems to fit the criteria exactly.

Can anyone with any experience of ADD please tell me about self-help and coping strategies please? Obviously I will take him to see the doctor, but I'm assuming that it will take forever to get an appointment with a specialist.

Thank you.

OP - you might get more responses if you post on Teenagers and/or chat as I’ve seen ADD discussed on MN but this board isn’t very busy.

Good luck..

Thank you. I'll do that.
