If you have been referred for a non urgent scan, how long did you wait?

I have been waiting for more than 2.5 months and still no date. Hospital says it's the Covid backlog and it might be 4-6 weeks more, they could not give me a date yet. Not sure if I should go back to GP to ask them to make it urgent but it is an issue which is bothering me adon't think I can/want to wait much longer.

I waited 6 weeks then chased the hospital and was immediately offered an appointment the following day, it's worth ringing regularly and offering to take any cancellation appointments.

I had a referral for a diagnosis in December 2019, finally had the appointment 3 weeks ago.

mums, I did ring a few times, even GP chased it up but the waiting list seems endless and no cancellations (or I didn't call at the right time).

Thanks all, seems my 3-4 months wait isn't that unusual then. Bit shocked to read how long some of you had to wait. might see if I can borrow some money to go private then to get it out of the way - bet with the lockdown it's gonna take even longer.

I am in the Manchester area and just read in the MEN that from now on, all non urgent care and appointments are gonna be stopped. Great. God know when someone will investigate the lump in my neck.

I was referred for an urgent scan two weeks ago (NHS). Haven't heard anything yet.

Requested a non-urgent scan privately a month ago and was told 4-6 weeks - and that's going private. Still waiting. My GP mentioned that the waiting list on the NHS for that particular scan is around 20,000 people (SW London).

I even had to wait 10 days for a blood test. Normally the nurse would take blood the same day. Apparently the chemicals they use are in short supply due to COVID testing.
