Hi ... am about to take him back to Dr for 2nd time in 24 hrs. Have not been able to get sample to check for infection. He last wee'ed yesterday lunchtime. Does anyone know what Dr might be able to do for him - has tried to go several times but says his wee-wee won't come. No temp. Not drinking much. No other symptoms. TIA

he hasnt been since yesterday? wow, is he in pain? the doc might refer him for ultra sound scan to find what is causing the problem, they may need to use a catheter to drain his bladder first if it is full, although if he isnt drinking much then it may not be full, u will need to keep an eye on him for dehydration aswell (although im sure u already know that, didnt mean to patronise u let us know how you get on.

Thanks for responding loopylou6. He was hopping from one foot to the other by the time we reached the surgery but still wouldn't go. GP reckons he has had a cystitis-y stinging sensation and is holding it. Got medicine to take away the stinging along with antibiotic ... were standing in chemist waiting for that when he decided he needed to try again ... and flooded the place! Oh the relief. We tested a sample and he doesn't have an infection but needs to take the other medication to alleviate any discomfort. Hope he'll go again tonight for us.
