because basically he doesnt need a baby sitter, so i can go to work, but if he was younger, would he be sent off to school with this condition?

Did you send him? He may be sent home if you did-schools don't like them going in with conjuctivitis as it is so contagious.

no i didnt send him, felt a bit like i was over reacting, but of course tis contagious

as a teacher, I'd be asking for him to be sent straight back home if he turned up at school with conjunctivitis.
