sore boobs during periods - is it the same or similar feeling as being engorged??

Can't remember ever having sore boobs during or before a period. This month they are reaaaaaally uncomfortable and I can only describe it as being the same feeling as when I was BFing. I've been reading up on this soreness because I got worried yesterday when it was only on one side and it felt lumpy. I've found that cyclical soreness can start in your 30s, so it sounds likely to be that.

Does anyone get sore boobs regularly, with periods? And if so, can you set my mind at rest and tell me if for you it is the same or similar feeling to being engorged?? Many thanks!

not quite engorged, but because im on the minipill and never quite no when and if im gonna have a period my hubby can tell by squeezing my boobs because they feel "lumpy" and swollen and to me they feel a little sore, not as sore as post pregnancy though, but if u do feel a single suspicious lump then get it checked out

it's quite weird, feeling like I could start leaking milk any minute and I know I'm not pregnant because I'm having a period at the same time.

Yes me also which is fuelling my monthly 'could I be pg' paranoia!

understand the paranoia! it is exactly how they felt when I first got pregnant, and they look larger too.

Before - about 5 to 7 days before. Has been increasing in severity over the last 4 months. I'm 32 btw.

I don't like it as I was never an 'achey boobs with period' type of person.

aha! I'm almost 32 too and have never had it before.
