Is my 3mnth old constipated?

I hope this is the right place to post this.

My DD is 3 mnths old and is usually exclusively breastfed. On Friday I was really ill so DH gave her a couple of bottles of formula (SMA gold) in the morning and evening so I could get some sleep. This was the first time she'd had any and guess she had half BF half FF that day. Since then we've had no dirty nappies at all. We usually have one or two a day and the longest she's gone before is one day. She's also been having episodes of unconsolable screaming. Of course she usually has the odd niserable spell in the day but this is bright red face, ear-piercing screaching lasting for 30 mins or so and I can't calm her. It's happened several times a day today and yesterday. I'm fairly sure she's constipated though she doen't seem to be straining.

have other people had this? I've tried massaging her tummy and cycling her legs - is there anything else I can do to help?

My son did this at about the same age, but without being fed any formula. He'd just decided to go from pooing a few times a day to twice a week. I think it's because there is less waste with breastmilk so less to come out the other end. I was advised by HV to just keep feeding, make sure he had plenty of wet nappies and if nothing had appeared after 7 days to let her know. He exploded on day 5 - nice!

my dd did this on sma gold too! had lots of advice like water etc but we actually chnaged formula to omneo comfort and she was fine (its got more fibre in it)
DD still has issues with pooing sometdays.

Day 3 he was a bit less happy than usual, stroppy on Day 4 and whinged like heck on Day 5 until poo appeared when he screamed like anything. Possibly more with surprise at the volume, of noise and poo released.

I had been giving him tummy massage every day and hope it helped.
