its a spray that cleans out your ears so you dont use cottons buds. alot of my friends have said its brilliant and use it for the whole family. they say you can use it on young children - has anyone tried it and thinks its ok? mine are 13 months and 3 yrs

I have used it but it feels very funny so i am not sure children will like it. You are basically squirting water in your ears, then it feels like you have been swimming. I have used cotton buds all my life and have never had a problem.

yeah, a couple of friends said that you get used to it after a while & its worth it in the long run as it cleans your ears. i stopped using cotton buds a while ago, was scared as my doc told me it could do real damage but now im just paranoid about dirty ears!

Hmm, tempting for me to get one too. Ds has always made a lot of wax, his ears look like you could grow potatoes in them after just 1 day.

I use cotton buds on myself, but daren't with him becos he wriggles so much

bundle · 20/10/2004 17:24

wax is produced by the ears to protect them and i would not remove it from my ears/my children's ears myself, but if there was a problem i'd go to see a doctor about it.

Easy · 20/10/2004 17:28

oh blimey bundle I have. Doctor just says "yes he makes a lot doesn't he" No prob with washing it out he says, just getting ds to sit still while I do

pris · 20/10/2004 17:37

well its about £5 but apparently lasts quite a while. yes, i think i will try it. its supposed to be 100% natural as well which is good as i am trying to start doing everything 'properly', if you know what i mean. iv seen it in lots of magazines with doc's recommending it - and i am sure they wouldnt promote it if it wasnt safe, right? i am just very nervous about cotton buds

this may sound a bit dim but once you've squirted it in there, then what do you do to get the wax out, lie with your head to one side or something?

pris · 20/10/2004 17:56

one friend says that you should use it in the shower or bath. you just skirt it in and it kind of dissolves the wax and drips out but its not like clumps of wax coming out - its just the liquid. it does sound quite strange ? but in a way i like the sound of it, if that makes sense! they use it about 2 times a week. as im writing all of this i think i am convincing myself!

Thought that this was a thread about cleaning cars!!
Damn I'll have to clean ours myself then!!

suedonim · 20/10/2004 19:50

I bought Audiclean. It's like getting water in your ear after a bath/shower, that's all, and I didn't notice any gunk coming out (maybe I'm not using it properly!!) though my ears felt cleaner. It was 3.99 in Boots.

Candles in the ears

cat82 · 20/10/2004 20:03

My dp said he didn't think it did anything at all. He finds olive oil in the ear helpful.

sorry, coputer been down. well, thanks everyone - i got some in the end. they had a stand at the Baby Show on fri on a special offer and i spoke to the people there who explained it all. it is very good indeed. having been using it for quite a number of days and it does make a difference. it feels a bit strange at first but you do get used to it - also, suedonim, i read that you arent supposed to get clumps of wax falling out your ear (which i was a bit ervous about!) as the solution breaks it down/disperses it. i really recommened it
