Say you thought you were pregnant (and if so would plan to continue with the pregnancy) but you weren't sure and then you had unprotected sex with another with whom you did not wish to make babies, if you talk the MAP (emergency contraception) in order to prevent pregnancy with sexual partner no. 2, would that have implications on the health of the unconfirmed pregnancy that may or may not exist?

Thanks WWW. I do think we are a little hung up on these things. We aren't exactly designed to live like swans and whilst from a social perspective it is preferable to be monogamous, procreation-wise slapperdome is kind of more realistic and possibly beneficial.

It is morality versus instinct I feel, which is easier when your life relationship is strong, less so when it's all gone tits up.

Essentially, I would not terminate but I DO need to know if I am have conceived with man 2 as I will take MAP to prevent pregnancy. I do not want a baby with man2 at all. I do (sort of) want a baby with man 1 as he has proven record with our existing child) this is regardless of whether our relationship is repaired.

I'm just wondering whether I should wait and see if AF arrives in next 24-48 hrs and then test. If I AF is absent but a pg test is negative then that would indicate conception had occurred with man 2 and thus I could see about MAP or coil then. If i test and Af is absent plus I get a positive result I'll know it is man 1. Right?

I'd take it, as long as it has been less than 72 hours, of course, as that is the latest it would work. But even then, if you do find out youre pregnant then you wont know for sure whos it is. Also what makes you think you are pregnant???
