Funny thing with leg - is this worth bothering the doctor with?

For about a week something slightly odd is going on with my lower right leg.

When I kneel, there's a sharp pain in my calf, just below and to the right of my knee. It's not painful any other time, but there is a slightly numb sensation in that area.

Any ideas? It doesn't really bother me all that much but is it something I should be concerned about?

(it might be a problem when I'm back at work though, as I do kneel quite a bit at work)

Anything ongoing with a knee you should get checked out. Its a complicated joint and it's easier to fix early on.

Something similar happened to me during lockdown. I ignored it and it got worse, eventually unable to kneel at all. Then my knee popped (loud, audible pop) and collapsed unable to weight bear and was bloody painful.

Diagnosis was torn cartilage. Treatment -rest, ice, compression and elevation.
Completely immobile for over a week followed by physio. It took over a month to be able to walk reasonably.
I would ring the doctor, they might be able to suggest ways to prevent or address the condition.
