MIL has shingles. I am pregnant but have had chicken pox. Do I have to stay away?

Not that I mind, of course. Just wondered whether the fact that I should have immunity makes it OK? And is it OK for dh to visit her and then come home to me?

Personally I think I'd call NHS Direct for some advice before either you or DH visit her

CD is right - you can't catch shingles. If you've had chicken pox you can develop shingles at any time - doesn't matter if you come into contact with someone with shingles or not.

As long as you've had chicken pox you're fine.
