So my partner can't get the day off work to drop me off and look after our son, I'm now going to have to tell my mum and dad so they can have him which I didnt want to have to do. 😥

@Nonamesavail Yay! 2/2 so far this week!

@Vi37 Can you just tell your parents you have a regular appt without going into detail? Im sure you're going to be just fine Thanks

Vi37 · 19/10/2020 18:16

Thank you @keepondreaming, I think I might just have to come clean. I think my mum would probably know something was wrong.

@Vi37 You are just a bit older than my DD and TBH I'd want to know. I fully get your wanting to protect their parents, but unless they are very old or in ill health themselves, I think they will cope.

Vi37 · 19/10/2020 18:56

Thank you, you're right @JinglingHellsBells

How are you doing in the waiting room ladies?

Standrewsschool · 20/10/2020 21:14

Hi @keepondreaming.

I’m doing fine and trying to keep busy.

However, One minute I think everything is fine, the next I’m worried. I Considered buying some gig tickets for next year, then decided to wait and find out the diagnosis first, just in case...!

Gowiththeflow92 · 21/10/2020 20:44

Thank you for asking everyone, I'm going to tell my parents at the weekend so should have childcare sorted. Trying to just get on with things but not finding it easy at the moment. I'm pretty sure I'll be a wreck by Sunday! X

Op the odds are because of your age this is just something benign. I DO understand (been to clinics myself) BUT try not to focus on the worst.

Cure for BC at an early stage is almost 100%. You will be FINE whatever.

Take care x

Vi37 · 22/10/2020 08:18

Thank you @JinglingHellsBells so hard not to jump to the worst case. X

Hey ladies just an update
Appointment was quite quick in consultation then ultrasound and back to the doctor just over an hour. They think its just fibrous breast tissue but no cysts so think more scar like tissue 🤔 but I only have it in one breast and doesnt change through my cycle except it seems to feel thicker each month. As the top outter bit was a large thicken and can get ur fingers under it they decided to do a biopsy to be on the safe side. Another 2 week wait but feeling a bit better about it now x

Vi37 · 22/10/2020 12:45

Glad you're feeling better about things after your appointment. X

Reporting back.

Mammogram clear!!

Had a brief chat about breast pain and then appointment was over.

Consultant was very impressed with the results of my lumphectomy eight years ago - said it didn’t look like I had any surgery or radiotherapy.

Sending positive thoughts to Vi37 and anyone else reading this thread.

Vi37 · 22/10/2020 18:56

Congratulations @Standrewsschool. X

Thank you. The white wine did come out last night and was consumed by moi.

Badgerstmary · 24/10/2020 23:47

Hi, I’ve not got a lump, but I’ve been referred as my nipple is feeling itchy/uncomfortable & my breast heavy. Has anyone else had this before. Am also waiting on test results to find out if I have a gene which increases the chance of breast cancer.

Standrewsschool · 25/10/2020 10:30

My breast was feeling heavy, as it was bruised and one area seemed tender compared to the rest.

Try not to panic - any breast changes or concerns get checked out. Maybe they need to re-name the breast cancer department as breast concerns department or simply breast clinic. Having the word ‘cancer’ in the clinic title is distressing for us all.

Mindymomo · 25/10/2020 11:04

My story a few years ago. A lump was found on my mammogram check up. Appointment at breast clinic 2 weeks later where I had another different mammogram. Back in waiting room, absolutely petrified along with another 10 or so women, ringing partners/relatives with the news. I was then seen again and showed the lump on screen and said they would do a needle biopsy. They gave local anaesthetic and took a sample from the lump. I was there for 3 hours in all and they booked me for another appointment in 2 weeks time. I was pretty sore the next day, but fine afterwards. On the day of my appointment they telephoned to say it wasn’t anything to worry about, so I didn’t need to attend. I hope your appointment goes well. Good luck.

Thinking of you today @Vi37
