Toddler sickness

Hi all. My almost 2 year old had a serious half a day of vomiting last Thursday. Took him to the docs who checked him over and said it was just one of those things. Since then I, DD and DP have all had sickness, but it was gone within 48 hours. However (sorry this is long, isn't it?)my son is still being sick every so often. Does anyone know if this is normal? Or could it be a symptom of something more serious? Any suggestions most appreciated!

PS going back to the doctor in the morning, but always best to be armed with Mumsnetters info, I find! Thanks.

Are you feeding him milk or other dairy products? If you are, these can be irritating his stomach. I have a strict rule in our house that all my kids know: after they have been sick, no milk or other dairy for three days and even then it is reintroduced very slowly. In fact, for the first day, they are restricted to dry toast (maybe with marmite or honey or jam on it), boiled potatoes, plain biscuits etc. I have found this has worked well for years. The one time I forgot and let my son have milk and chocolate too soon he vomited it up again within hours. That taught me!

Thanks Lonelymum (hope you're not all that lonely!). Been to the doc who said EXACTLY what you said! Something to do with being temporarily intolerant to lactose apparently. Thanks for your help - ever thought of going into medicine?
