My son who is 3 has got a brown dot on the 'pad' part of his little finger. At first I thought it was felt pen but after numerous baths it's still there!

On closer looking it looks a bit like a blood blister but there is no lump or anything, it's smooth against his skin and seems to be under the skin - hard to explain really, best way to describe it is as 'felt tip dot on the skin'.

It's probably been there about 3-4 weeks now (since I noticed it anyway).

Is it worth a trip to the docs or should I just forget about it??!!!

I would get it checked out, just for peace of mind.

I have a freckly-moley thing on the pad of one of my fingers (although obviously I prefer to think of it as a beauty spot). I've had it since I was a kid and it's entirely trouble-free (no itching or anything). However, agree that it is always good to get a GP to have a look.

Just checked the 'thing' on DS2 finger and it was still there. Was about to make an appointment at docs when I thought I'd have a little prod.

I squeezed it with my nail and it shot straight out! All I can describe it as is a 'piece of peanut skin' - but we don't eat peanuts......the mind boggles!

Still, at least it's out!
