Hi,

I am getting a sharp stabbing pain in my upper shoulders after 1 second of swallowing something. This had started on Thursday after I ate my dinner. I am going to book an appointment on Monday but I thought I'd ask if anyone has experienced this before? or what it could be?

I used to get this with trapped wind. Was especially bad after a c-section

Have you tried those sorts of remedies?

leahshd23 · 03/10/2020 16:33

just to add.. it is just under MY UPPER RIGHT SHOULDER BLADE that i feel the pain

Yep, trapped wind. It's the most bizarre thing.

leahshd23 · 03/10/2020 16:35

I haven't, No! but how long did the pain last for you?

Could be gallbladder inflammation/stones. Shoulder pain referred from sub-diaphragm cause.

Trapped wind after c sections manifests in the shoulder area....absolutely agony.

Could also be gallstones, I had a real crushing right shoulder pain with that. Will be set off by eating foods containing fat and I also found hot drinks triggered it.

But when I drink/eat something warm, I can't feel the pain as much

Fairly quickly, and once gone that was it. Is it with everything you eat?

Yes! even when I swallow my own saliva :/ but I don't feel the pain when I drink/eat hot food/drinks as much
