...lost control of my bladder .

i am only 27. i had ds 15 months ago. he was big and i had an episiotomy. for a week or so after birth i was incontinent but since then it has been ok. occassionally a tiny bit leaks out if i cough or jump but that is rare and just a bit.

no idea what happened today. i was not desperate. i was gently running between meetings. suddenly i felt myself start to wee and could not stop it. i have never been so embarrassed in my life. i was wearing a skirt. i instantly threw my coffee overmyself so that nobody would notice my legs were wet. it was terrible.

has anybody else suddenly had this problem months after giving birth? is it likely to happen again? could it be permanent?

i was horrible. i am only 27 and i am fit .

I had macroplastique bladder neck injection to tide me over until I had finished my family - it worked really well until I was pg again

Hidingforthis, my DS2 was a big baby and is 19mths old, I find I have to rush for the loo very often and be very speedy or else I too "leak".
I recently did a 5km run in Liverpool and felt I needed a wee halfway round, then ended up weeing myself silently for the last 2km! I was mortified, but it is only when running that this happens, and only three times thus far (I have had to run through our close dripping wet hoping people think I'm sweaty before now!).
I am doing my pelvic floors regularly now, and hoping!

I would definitely go to the docs, or (as already mentioned) could you be pg?

thanks everyone. today i seem to have cystitis. my kidneys hurt and i have to go to the loo all the time only to find i don't really have to go at all. i am pretty hopeful that yesterday's incident might all be due to this one infection. am trying to get into gp's this afternoon but to no avail.

don't think i am preg yet. only had my period two weeks ago so unless i ovulated really early it seems impossible. however i have only ever had cystits before when pregnant with ds so i did wonder.

Hi, I peed myself at my dh birthday party whilst playing air guitar!

I was so embarrased but luckily it was dark and alot of the guest were pissed!

Trampolining is a nightmare for me. Whenever I see one, I always have to have a little bounce, why do I do it! even if I don't need the loo before bouncing, i always do after!

I saw something on richard and judy once about this and I'm sure you can take a pill for this? It is somethng that women don't like to talk about but a woman who had suffered for something like 35 years was on there and it helped her..

belgo · 11/10/2007 13:50

trampoloining is great exercise for the pelvic floor. A friend of mine has a five year old boy who was still bedwetting every night, then she bought a trampoline and he started using it every day and at the same time started to go dry through the night.

A pill for incontinence? Physio therapy and pelvic floor exercises are probably the best solution in this instance.

Good luck hidingfor this
