Help! DD has split gum - what shall we do?

Last Thurs dd fell off her bike onto her front teeth. Luckily she has lost 3 of her 4 front teeth already - otherwise they would have probably been knocked out. The whole area was very inflamed and bloody but healed well. However, today I asked her to show me how it was doing and now that the area is healed I can see that the gum above one of her new front teeth (only just descending now) is split. It goes up a good 5 mm in a kind of triangle above the gum line. Basically it should have been stitched but because the whole area was one big bloody, bruised mass, it's only now, 6 whole days later that we can see the damage.

Will it heal? Will it have to be cut and stitched up? Anyone had experience of this??? Should we go to the doctors or the dentists tomorrow? WHAT SHALL WE DO??????????

I would go to the dentist tommorow but it should be ok and heal ok.

Went to dentist and he said it would heal by itself - phew. He also said it wouldn't have been stitched at the time as the stitch would not have stayed. Have let myself off the Worst Mother in the World hook though am still not convinced it will really heal... it is a massive split and dentist said it would be back to normal in 2 weeks - no sign of any change so far but fingers crossed.
