Athletes foot?

When I had plantar fasciitis it felt like there was a nail embedded in my heel causing a sharp pain every step. Does it feel like that? The remedy was to stop wearing flip-flops and flat-based sandals and ballet pumps, and start only wearing properly supportive shoes that include arch support - birkenstock sandals are perfect, and you can get birkenstock-shaped insert insoles to go into other shoes.

Look after your feet, you can't get replacements if you break the ones you have, and "fashion" shoes are a fast ticket to broken feet sooner or later.

Does it hurt most in the mornings, particularly when you get out of bed and put your feet on the floor for the first time? If so it's plantar fasciitis- I've had it and it's extremely irritating but you can make it go away.

The main thing is wearing the correct shoes which support your arch - go see a physio who will diagnose you, treat with ultrasound if appropriate, strap your foot if it would help the initial healing and then advise you on shoes/implants. You can cure it in a few weeks but you do need to then be careful with the shoes you wear pretty much all the time!

Morton's neuroma? It's agony.

Is it the skin that's the problem or something inside the foot? It's not really clear from your post.

If it’s a skin problem apply one pump of double base gel over the foot daily before bed.
