Could he be teething???

DS3 has been in an odd mood all day, he's always fed well (FF) and particularly so in the last month or so. And is usually a pretty amenable little chappy.

However today he's been really "off" (and yesterday a bit too).

Yesterday he slept LOADS during the day (very unusual for him) with not very long awake periods. But was still drinking his milk ok.

Today he's just wanted to sleep and has hardly much at all. Ususually he'll have a minimum of 5/6oz in one feed - and usually 8/9 just before bed. Today he's only been having 3/4oz at the most in one go (2oz just before bed!) and most of the time has just wanted to "chomp" on the teat rather than drink.

He's been chewing his fists more than usual, and now he has started to pick up toys on his own has been chomping furiously on those today too.

I ended up giving him Calpol at 7pm as instead of having a nap for about 20 minutes just before 7 he kept looking like he was dropping off to sleep and then squealing.

DS1 and DS2 sailed through their teeth coming through - infact first I knew of either of them having teeth was when they bit me (DS1 my nipple, DS2 my finger). So the whole "they're off because they're teething" malarky is all new to me.

Also DS1 and 2 didn't get their first teeth through until they were about 11 months old (apparently I was a "late" teether as was DH).

I've had a look in his mouth - but never having had to "check" to see if they're teething because of grumpiness I haven't got a clue what I'm looking for!

I'm off to make up more bottles (as I've been through loads of "part" bottles today ) and get a fire going so shall check back later to find out if I'm mad, or just plain daft.

how old is ds3? this sounds like my dd when she was 5m and then again a few weeks later. Then suddenly two pearly pegs appeared and she has been fine since!

he's nearly 20 weeks (4 and a bit months).

It just seems odd as "late" teething runs in both DH and my families.

Anyhow - bottles are still not made, fire is nowhere near started so I really will come back to this later.
