All the symptoms point to bone cancer, any experiences?

My mum has been quite ill on and off the last couple of years. Doctors have fobbed her off quite a lot tbh. She started with persistent ear infections, a lot of fatigue to the point where she sleeps in until 3/4. The past couple of weeks she’s got a severe weakness/burning pain in her joints (the long bone in her arm) she’s struggling to get herself dressed. She can’t move her arms above her head either. She also has a nobbly/lumpy bit on her shoulder. She’s scared which I’m trying not to make worse, but I am so so worried. She’s said it’s a burning pain from her shoulder and then stops at the elbow. She’s struggling to sleep as well with the pain. She hasn’t got stiff joints so unlikely to be arthritis.

Should also add she keeps getting unexplained bruising on her arms and her thighs.

Have you looked her symptoms up on Google? Please try not to worry (easier said than done I know). It could honestly be many other things, including deficiencies. Can you go with her to the GP to support her in getting blood tests & a referral?

She’s just had a conversation with one of the doctors at the surgery and they’ve told her that a nurse will ring her soon to arrange a blood test ASAP. He said it could be polymyalgia rheumatica but as it isn’t stiffness and is mainly in her arms it’s unlikely. We’ve had a google and every symptom we’ve put in comes back as bone cancer!

That's what I meant - google is your worst enemy because sometimes the most innocuous symptom points you to something horrible.
It causes a lot of worry although it's understandable to want to try and get to the bottom of it all if doctors are dragging their feet. I have 9/10 symptoms of prostate cancer according google but I'm a woman!

I hope your mum is seen quickly and gets a diagnosis and treatment soon. Thanks for you both.

I hope it isnt this but my Mum has a rare blood cancer that effects the bones. She started off getting lots of ear infections, sinus infections and colds. Then she got a lot of aches and pains that they initially said was reactive arthritis. 2 years later she was diagnosed with cancer.

I would keep going to the GP and ask for tests. I'm sorry I cant advise which ones as I didnt go with my Mum to her appointments. I wish you the very best of luck and I hope your Mum is ok.

Can I ask what treatment she’s having? Gosh that’s all my mums symptoms... I really hope this isn’t cancer :(

OP I do too and remember it very well might not be so please explore everything you can through a GP just keep going ask for blood tests to test for everything.

She had to have chemo medication, it included lots of steroids. She never had radiation but she did have a stem cell transplant. She isnt in remission because there is no such thing with her cancer but she is better for now. She still has some treatment for her bones but that's it for now.

Well the GP Is definitely taking the piss! Her blood tests are booked in for the 13th October, she can’t even get herself dressed atm and I’ve been going to help her. She’s in loads of pain and is going to the doctors tomorrow to see if they can rush anything up.
