Detached retinas - now fixed but...

DH and I are going on a long haul flight next month. It was after he had returned from a long haul flight about a decade ago and three weeks later he was in hospital having both his eyes done. Obviously, there's nothing to say that the flight made his retinas detach. All fixed, no problems etc but was wondering if anyone with a bit of knowledge might think (albeit too late now!) it wasn't the best thing to do? Might seem a bit stupid to ask this now I know!!!

I think its worth calling the local eye dept and asking just to make sure, you'll be able to give them details of the sort of repair surgery he had.

Thanks BK; although what we'd do if they said 'don't go!' I have no idea...take my Mum instead
