Hacking mucus cough in 3 month old!

Hi.

My 3 month old (courtesy of my toddler) has a cold which has culminated in a hacking cough, I assume due to the snot she keeps snorting. We suck out the snot when we can (using saline and suction bulb) but her cough is terrible. Can anyone suggest anything to ease it? I have propped her cot at night, but the coughing keeps her awake and upsets her during the day too. Any advice gratefully received!

A wet flannel on her radiator will bring some humidty into her room. Steam when having a bath. See a doc if goes on too long as she is v young.

Thanks v. much NAB3. Saw the doc today and she said her chest was clear so nothing to worry about and she's putting on weight fine (phew!) So will do as you suggest and hang out for it to finish!
