Back pain during the night, eases in the day...disturbing my sleep

I've had worsening back pain during the night for about 5 days now. It feels most sore kind of under my left shoulder blade. It radiates thro my chest and so also aches under my left breast. Deep breaths
hurt. It wakes me and is too painful to get back to sleep. Paracetamol does help so long as I get up too. I've assumed I've pulled a muscle but why would that ease off when Im up and about? Not sure it warrants a call to GP...but on the other hand it's painful enough that Im sleeping shite, and it's getting worse. WWYD?

I'd make a doctors appointment and assume I had gallstones from what you describe. That's what I'd do and I think you should do the same

Oh crikey really?? I'm on a very strict keto diet and have read that gallstones can be a side effect so I will contact GP! Thanks for the heads up.

You are definitely experiencing pain that fits with gallstones. Hope you get some answers soon

KipperBangs and ArfNArf I have spoken to GP now and he is going to check me over this afternoon, but he pretty much instantly dismissed the gallstones idea on the basis that gallstone pain is usually lower back. Would there be any other symptoms if it was gallstones?

A pain which reaches under your shoulder blade is a classic gallstone symptom. As is a twisting sort of pain. Granted, it's more often than not in the right shoulder and under it but it radiates everywhere
