Blood in urine (sorry if tmi)

Was wondering if anyone had experience of this?
I'm currently signed up to a clinical trial (for heartburn), not taking any medications as of yet but have been through initial screening.
Got a call from them today to say that my urine sample had blood in it and I should see my doctor ASAP
I feel fine, not noticed when going to loo or wiping?
I'm 45, on HRT as had ovaries removed many years ago, otherwise fine apart from heartburn!
This is making me a bit worried, anyone had this discovered with no symptoms of anything else?
Don't want to start googling and end up scared witless..

Blood was found in my urine when I was tested for a urinary tract infection. I didn't see it when I went to the loo but apparently it was there! I was given a course of antibiotics and retested once I had finished them. All was fine afterwards 😊

My husband has a yearly health check for his job, and he's had blood show in his urine more than once. But he's never actually "seen" anything, it's just a trace. His doctor said that some people can have this with no trouble. He had no treatment, and he's not had this now for several years.

I’ve had very obvious blood in my urine, turned out to be a horrid UTI. A course of antibiotics and I was fine. Ring the GP tomorrow and take in a sample, I bet it’s nothing at all to worry about - they’ll dip it in there

Probably a UTI. Try not to get too fussed! Get a sample off to your doctors and they should be able to dip it then and there!

Ahhh Thankyou!!
Mind at ease a little now
Shall call gp in the morning, I tried when I got home from work today but was too late 🙄
