Canesten - out of date

Sorry TMI - pretty certain I have a case of thrush developed/ing. The thought to trying to fall asleep with irritated bits was too much for me tonight so I hunted high and low for some canesten cream. Happily applied and obviously not until after that I decided to check the expiry date, July 2019. Will it work? Will it burn my bits off? Do I need to try and get it off? So many questions related to my itchy bits. It'll be fine tho won't it, I want to stay it just won't work properly but nothing terrifying is going to happen..

No clue if this is true but my mum once told me that the use by dates are not necessarily completely true but that the production has to continue hence why.

Could be completely wrong but if I was desperate, I'd use it. That's me though!

I doubt it becomes dangerous after use by date, more likely reduces its effectiveness. I feel fairly sure it will be fine 🙂

Buy a new tube tomorrow!

I shouldn't think it'll do any harm at all. It might have lost some of its effectiveness but that's all. Use it tonight and get yourself a Canesten pessary tomorrow.

It’ll be fine. It will be less, rather than more potent so will do you no harm, and will hopefully do some good.

Yogurt might also be soothing, or coconut oil.

Will definitely pop to the chemist first thing. Haven't missed this. It's been a long while since I've needed some canesten. Thank you
