Ultra Sound on breech babies

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but has any one had to take thier babies for a ultra sound to check the babies hip alignment.

A brief history DD2 was breech until turned at 38 weeks. Apart from being induced no problems. But because she was breech we have had to have her hips scanned for clicky hips (sp).

We had one scan when she was 19 days and her left hip alignment was 62% and her right hip was 59% alignment. The cut off point is 60% so we have to go again on the 10/10/07.

I just woundering if anyone had any experience with this as i have never heard of this.

Sorry to ramble but have post birth brain (or lack off)

Yes my DD was breech and had to have her hips scanned. She was scanned at a few weeks old. They said one hip was immature so she had to go back.

As it turned out they didn't send me the letter about the second scan until 3 weeks after the appointment date but we went back and the hip was fine.

They told me it's because some babies are breech because there is a problem with the hips.

My DS had dislocated hips and was scanned at one week old. We were then seen a month or so later and scanned again at which time they could see that the hips were starting to 'fix themselves' and he didn't need treatment. We were then seen 6 monthly until he was 2 just to make sure all progressing normally.

Both my dd's have had hip scans, dd1 because they detected a slight click at her first checks after the birth and dd2 as she was breech.(born by c-section as she wouldn't turn) Turns out they were both fine though. They didn't give me percentages or anything though.

Hope she is ok x
