Steve is throwing up big time, he won't let me help him and i feel a bit useless, he started being sick at 4pm, he is still being sick last time he was being sick til 4am.
i am not convinced it is the chemo that is making him sick. i think it is the ABs that he has to stop him getting any infections.
we are seeing the consultant in the morning, questions will be asked.

some good days would be nice, the radio can only be given for 6 weeks then it will just be chemo for however long that works

fransmom · 02/10/2007 19:34

oh sweetheart (((((((((((((((((((((Oj))))))))))))))))))))))))

what a decision to be thinking about.can you talk to the mac nurse now?

LilyLoo · 02/10/2007 19:39

only Steve will know what's right for him , it's an awful decision to make and my heart goes out to you all

onlyjoking9329 · 02/10/2007 20:39

steve has had his twin brother vist and he has told him, there were many tears, steve says that he is relieved that he won't have to put up with the MS much longer.
Steve decided tp tell his mum which he found very hard.
steve is asleep now after laying cuddled up with me whilst we both cried about the unfairnes of it all.
my heart goes out to MB and her family today, they are so strong and have been a huge support to me.
the kids still don't know and it breaks my heart to think of how they will cope without their Dad

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 02/10/2007 23:52

hi oj

sorry for the mix up last night with the septrim, peter is atad forgetful. hope the ondansatron helps a bit with the sickness. peter was throwing up for a week or so when he was first started on the septrim, but he has it daily.

hope you get some sleep, and tomorrow isnt as hard for you.

wishingchair · 03/10/2007 09:40

Oj - what an awful decision to make.

Have you contacted Winston's Wish ... they can help you through telling your children.

When we asked the consultant what "it" would be like (didn't know if he'd just keel over or it would be long and drawn out), he said it would be fairly quick ... small number of weeks not months ... so hopefully you get some good times whatever decision you make.

We're thinking of you all in the wishingchair house.

PS - we were told they could do radiotherapy again ... just a matter of balancing the risks/benefit.

LilyLoo · 03/10/2007 10:31

OJ i really don't know what to say but that's a good point about Winstons wish they will be able to help with the kids i'm sure. Hope you bearing up and Steve too x

onlyjoking9329 · 03/10/2007 11:26

thanks for all your lovely messages.
will sort something out for the kids, will speak to the Mac nurse about it.
steve just woken up had his chemo and off to hospital soon for radiotherapy. he is still thinking about treatment/no treatment
i think he will do the treatment whilst it is bearable but if it makes him really bad he will stop all treatment and i think that he should be able to choose how he does things he has little choice in most stuff these days.

onlyjoking9329 · 04/10/2007 10:34

steves head is quite swollen, yesterday he said they struggled to get his mask on for the radiotherapy, so dunno if they will be able to give him his treatment today, i wonder if they will give him the steriods that i asked the doctor for on tuesday?

OP posts:
Tickle · 04/10/2007 20:10

Hi OJ - how did the treatment go today? Are the steroids supposed to help with the swelling, and did Steve get them?

onlyjoking9329 · 04/10/2007 21:03

the radio team called the same doc we saw on tuesday (who said it wasn't swollen on tues} who agreed it was swollen but she says its the soft tissue that is swollen so won't give steriods.
this is the same dr who said steve had to continue with the AB that were making him very sick cos his chemo meds make him phone to pnemonia, and she said that would make him really ill i mean its not like he is already really ill is it
i just looked at steve and said oh yes we wouldn't want ypu to be really ill would we

OP posts:
Tickle · 04/10/2007 21:46

That sucks...

Hope the heavy irony wasn't wasted on Mrs Doctor

Hope you get a good night's sleep tonight...
