I have an appointment in 2 weeks to see the consultant as my thyroid has "activity" (doctors words) and I have raised antibodies. I have a lump in my thyroid and symptoms of thyroid cancer - the GP was obvs non committal when I asked if it could be cancer but admitted it was something to check out.

My problem is a pain I have been having for about 4 months in my upper back that has got worse over the last 2/3 weeks. It is between my shoulder blades and feels like it is nearing my spine - the same side as the thyroid lump. It is starting to make me feel sick. I have taken paracetamol but it doesnt really help. I have put it down for weeks to sleeping awkwardly - but it has been going on so long now.

I hate "bothering" my doctor, but really not sure whether to go or leave it.

Thank you for any advice

Just "bother " her - she is there to be bothered - that's her job. You have a legitimate concern. I hope that you get this sorted soon and that it is not cancer.

Go back , as pp said they are paid to be ‘bothered’ . Best wishes .
