Has seen the doctor. ECG undertaken and came back normal. Dh who is not a hypocondriac is quite concerned (to put into perspective, dh had pneumonia a couple of years back - he thought he just was a bit tired and didn't seek medical attention until I frogmarched him to the doctor whereupon he was diagnosed ...so he is not the type to worry unnecessarily about his health)....

Pain is just below ribs on right hand side and appears to be worse after exertion (although still there sometimes at rest). It's also worse if he bends at the waist to the right hand side but easier if he bends at the waist to the left.

Pain is not acute, burning etc. He describes it as a numb sensation or a feeling a bit like having an obstruction there.

Any ideas? Doctor seems to be drawing a blank

Oh - just read the thread title - several weeks. Wouldn't be shingles then.

Has he had any sort of injury? Lifted anything heavy, pushed or pulled something heavy, stretched, reached, twisted, fallen???
