Bleeding umbilicus in 11 day old?

Hello!

Noticed last night when changing DS nappy that his tummy button was bleeding a bit - not much, but definitely blood. Again this morning when changed his nappy. his cord fell off a few days ago - is it normal for it to bleed a little?

My DD is 9 days old today and her cord feel off a good 4 days ago, but still a little left. Her's has bled a tiny bit last night, just a few dots on nappy. Im not too worried as its not large amounts. Are you still under midwife team? It might be worth asking them to put your mind at rest
