I take 15mg of mirtazapine every evening in order to sleep. Most of the time, it works well. But Im not happy with the weight gain. Are there similar medicines which will induce sleep?

I have a sleep disorder and before I tried mirtazapine, usually I go to sleep at 2-4 am and wake up about 8 hours later.

Aside from that, I always felt fine but its hard where I live to find work where you can go in at miday/afternoon so after the Drs recommendation, I started taking mirtazapine.

Pretty immediately after starting them, I became a beast when it came to eating (mostly carby stuff) and consequently, became a human blimp and very overweight.

However, as my body came accustomed to the mirtazapine, I binged on food way less and a few years later, Im on the keto diet and never overeat and walk a fair bit too (usually at least 10 kilometres a day, sometimes a lot more).

However, while Im not as fat as I once was, i have a bloated stomach virtually all the time. Im tall so it isnt obvious when I walk down the street but when I see myself naked, its depressing.

I think it might be a degree of water retention (not sure) and I just want to sleep without a bloated torso.

If any one can advise me as to any other medicines that could be out there, Id be much appreciative. At this point, Id rather be addicted to zopiclone than be like this.

Thanks!
