Well the title says it all, for obvious reasons I have changed my name here, but.. I had a tooth out last Friday and was given antibiotics, surprise surprise I got thrush, but it was really sore. Took tablet and cream but it wasn't getting any better, also at weekend h had a cold sore (never had one before) had nookie.

By Wednesday realised not ordinary thrush and started googling, and on Friday went to Dr. Dr confirmed genital herpes and has given me tablets etc.

Dr explained that it could have been dormant for years no blame etc, but I feel dirty and ashamed. Have not had sex with anyone except dh since we got together 11 years ago, and I had always thought the same about him.

I had to babysit for a friend last night so didn't have a chance for a face to face talk with h, this morning he has not looked my in the eye, and has only spoken to me when he had to ie do I have to take my keys?

I feel soooo awful

Sorry, the actual point of that post was to say that I wouldn't care about it if I liked the person enough. So I imagine your Dh still loves you even if it did come from your side of the equation Just a bit of a shock is all.

Did you have oral sex with your DH? If so, then he gave it to you. Chances are he's had it for years (it lies dormant). No need to phone the divorce courts.

You should never have oral sex off someone with a Coldsore. Although not the same virus as genital herpes and likely less severe, you can in effect get codsores of the genitals through oral.
Certainly wouldn't kiss anyone with a Coldsore. Any chance he's actually gone quiet through guilt? He's either spread coldsores to your genitals or actual genital herpes. Let's hope for the former, many people have that virus laying dormant for years without knowing it and it should mean your symptoms are less severe than the other, with probably less breakouts in future.
