Sore willy?

DS2 (just 3) has been complaining, lately, of a sore willy. There is nothing obviously wrong there, it all looks fine.

He does seem quite anxious and upset when this happens.

I suspect it may just be him getting an erection, he fiddles with it because it's sore, which makes it worse, etc etc, but I'm a bit worried it might be something else?

(He's not pulling back his foreskin yet, I don't think.)

was gonna say NQSC that he could of "discovered" and been pulling and stretching it (as little ones do [) also like u say he could of just started getting erections, i remember my ds (who is now 8) going through this, one particulary embaressing time, we where on the market and he was shouting VERY loudly "mummy my willy is ahrd" ohhhh the embaressment lol.
ps, is he weeing ok?

I think he's weeing ok. He's still in nappies (that's a whole other story - he's clearly physically totally ready, but emotionally completely opposed). He doesn't fiddle with his willy that much, I don't think.

My son had an inflamed willy at about 10 months (nasty shock when I changed his nappy!) and the GP diagnosed balinitis - it was sorted out very quickly with canestan cream and is an infection due to poor hygiene (bit tough given that he's in nappies).

I would take him to the doctor in case it is some lingering nasty rather than erections - surely they shouldn't hurt?!

Hi NQC.

I don't want to worry you but when my son was about 3 he said his willy was sore. I told him to leave it alone and it would be okay. There was no redness, swelling etc, it looks perfectly normal.

Anyway, years later he has had to have a circumcision because he had a skin condition which causes 'fusing'. If only I'd listened when he said it was sore.....

Please take him to the GP if you're not sure. It's probably nothing but I wish I'd taken mine

By the way..he is fine now!

I quick in and out op and it's as good as new

'A quick in and out op' I meant

He was 7 and not at all bothered about it, I just wish I'd listened when he was 3 and then maybe some cream would have sorted it.
