Filling fell out - how big a deal is this?

I've known for a while that one of my back teeth is sort of crumbling to dust, and today the filling kind of dropped out with a cruch (it's an interesting object in a yucky way). It doesn't hurt, but I know I will need to get it seen to at some point - just wondering if I need to fuss about getting soomeone to mind DS while I try to book an urgent appointment, or whether it can wait a week or two.
(I'm a single mum and really don't want to have to take DS into the dentist to watch me shriek, fight, curse and dribble).
